Our prevention experts work in the schools in the communities we serve, and they provide group and one-on-one school-based education services focused on topics including managing anger and stress, grief and loss, divorce, ADHD, foster care, and more.


PREVENTION & Education Services

SCHOOL BASED EDUCATION SERVICES

Locations: Findlay

Our prevention educators are located at schools in Hancock county to offer group education sessions for youth in grades K-12. These groups work to teach social emotional skills, health education, life skills training, self-esteem/confidence, and many other topics. If you are interested in hearing more about these groups please reach out to your school counselor or principle to see what is offered at your school.

MORAL RECONATION THERAPY

Locations: All

MRT is an evidence-based cognitive behavior group designed to foster moral development in treatment-resistant clients. The program is designed to alter how you think and make judgments about what is right and wrong through structured exercises. This service is provided to youth who are between 14 and 18 years old.

CHALLENGE

Locations: Findlay

The Challenge Program focuses on building awareness and knowledge of the nature and extent of alcohol and other drug use, abuse and addiction, as well as the effects those substances have on individuals, families and communities. This program is for youths and young adults who have violated an alcohol and/or other drug law or policy in the community, at school, in athletics, or within the boundaries of their own home.

HANCOCK COUNTY YOUTH SUMMER GROUPS

Locations: Findlay

The Summer Mental Health Group is facilitated by FRC staff at Glenwood Middle School. This service is provided to youths in Hancock County in kindergarten through 5th grade. This group was developed to address the loss of student skills during the summer months. The Summer Group focuses on self-esteem, team work, anger management, social skills, problem solving, listening and following directions, decreasing student anxiety, self-control and communication skills.

There are currently no summer groups going on due to COVID-19.

TRIPLE P CLASSES

Locations: Findlay

The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program® is a parenting and family support system designed to prevent – as well as treat – behavioral and emotional problems in children and teenagers. It aims to prevent problems in the family, school, and community before they arise and to create family environments that encourage children to realize their potential.
